Watercress Vietnamese Bistro Opening in Kirkland

Watercress Vietnamese Bistro
89 Kirkland Avenue, Kirkland

With one location already in Seattle on Rainer Ave South, Watercress Vietnamese Bistro is crossing to the Eastside to one of the prime summertime outdoor dining locations.  The location has a large outdoor patio to attract tourists on sunny summer days.  Hopefully they’ll be open in time to capture some summer business.

Chainline Brewing Company Opening in Kirkland

Chainline Brewing Company
503 5th Street South, Kirkland

Just north of the downtown core next to the Google campus in Kirkland will be the home of Chainline Brewing.  As the second brewery in Kirkland (following the opening of FlyCaster Brewing in Totem Lake in May), Chainline Brewing will be adjacent to the Cross Kirkland Corridor, and they plan to have a deck which will overlook the trail.  The grand opening may still be a few months away, but once Google starts slurring its search results, we’ll know they’re open for business!

Top Pot Doughnuts & Coffee Opening in Juanita Village

Top Pot Doughnuts & Coffee
Juanita Village, Kirkland

Adding to their several Seattle and Eastside locations, Top Pot Doughnuts & Coffee will be opening their first Kirkland location in Juanita Village.  So this apparently answers the question of whether there are enough coffee shops in Juanita Village yet.  Or maybe Top Pot should be classified a doughnut shop that also serves coffee.  You decide.  The sign is up, but they’re still working on the interior, so the opening date hasn’t been set yet.  See you there when it opens!

Bottle and Bull Opening in Kirkland

Bottle and Bull
105 Lake Street, Kirkland

Scheduled to open in August in the downtown Kirkland location previously occupied by Tervelli UltraLounge across from Hector’s, Bottle and Bull will share the flavors of the places that Ernest Hemingway loved most.  In their own words, “Experience the travels of Ernest Hemingway through your palette, eating and drinking your way through the cities that Hemingway loved to frequent; Havana, Paris, Florence and Pamplona (where Hemingway discovered his love of bullfighting!) to name a few.

Urban Coffee Lounge: Not Your Ordinary Kirkland Coffee Shop

Honey Caramel Cinnamon LatteUrban Coffee Lounge recently opened their second location, just south of Totem Lake in the Slater 116 building. After waiting in line just to get into the Rose Hill Starbucks parking lot on 85th, then finally giving up once I got into the parking lot because there were no available parking spots, I decided to head down the road and give Urban Coffee Lounge a try. I wasn’t disappointed.

Whether you stop in for one of their signature drinks like the Honey Caramel Cinnamon Latte or the Salted Maple Latte, or sit down for lunch with one of their specialty sandwiches, you’ll be delighted by not only the food and beverages, but the experience as well. You can actually have a conversation with someone sitting across from you without having to raise your voice. They do play music in the background, but it’s not overbearing like many other coffee shops I’ve been to. The environment is a mix of modern-industrial coupled with warm and comfortable–Inviting and interesting.

In addition to the typical coffee shop pastries (and some not so typical ones), the sandwich selection wasn’t what you would typically find elsewhere. Included in their sandwich selection are offerings such as the Chicken Curry Wrap, Freebird Turkey Sandwich, Chicken Basil Sandwich, Organic Peppenwolf Sandwich, and Organic Yam & Kale Wrap.

Urban Coffee Lounge currently has two locations. One in Juanita Village at 9744 NE 119th Way and their new Slater 116 location at 12348 NE 115th Place.
